HighScoreSaves Arcade Kit Development and Release History: 2013–Present

HighScoreSaves has developed free-play and high-score-save kits, Wired CAT5 Kits, Wi-Fi Kits, multigame upgrades, and important software updates for original classic arcade PCB hardware.
HighScoreSaves kit development began before the business had a public website. The first kit developed was the Gorf Save Kit, completed in December 2013. Additional kits were developed during 2013 and 2014 before the HighScoreSaves website launched in 2015.
Dates before 2015 are therefore presented as verified development or completion dates rather than website announcement dates. Entries from 2015 forward may represent development, completion, public availability, website announcement, or significant update dates, depending on the historical records available for each kit.
HighScoreSaves has designed 124 arcade upgrade kits across its complete product history. Some timeline entries represent multigame systems containing several supported games, so the number of dated entries is lower than the total number of individual kits and games represented.
HighScoreSaves kits are designed to add useful modern features while retaining the original arcade PCB, authentic gameplay, cabinet controls, and classic arcade experience. Depending on the game and kit generation, releases may include permanent high-score saving, free play, wired score submission, Wi-Fi leaderboard support, multigame functionality, attract-mode improvements, or other game-specific enhancements.
The Change from Wired CAT5 to Wi-Fi
HighScoreSaves originally offered connected scoring through a wired network kit that used a CAT5 Ethernet cable. This earlier system allowed compatible arcade kits to communicate with the HighScoreSaves scoring service through a physical network connection.
In May 2022, HighScoreSaves began using Wi-Fi connectivity instead of the earlier CAT5 cable system. Releases dated before May 2022 are therefore described in this archive as Wired CAT5 Kits. Releases after that transition are described as Wi-Fi Kits.
The change removed the need to run a network cable to the arcade machine and made it easier for compatible kits to connect to the HighScoreSaves global leaderboard system. Exact networking features and setup requirements vary by kit and game.

2026 Arcade Kit Releases
The 2026 release record expanded HighScoreSaves support for Gottlieb arcade hardware and added a major Space Invaders multigame release. Reactor, Mad Planets, and Krull were documented within approximately one month of one another, marking a concentrated period of development for classic Gottlieb titles.
July 7, 2026 — Krull Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Krull. The release
extended permanent high-score saving and wireless leaderboard support to the original
Gottlieb arcade PCB used by this distinctive fantasy-themed arcade game.
June 10, 2026 — Mad Planets Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Mad Planets. This release added
HighScoreSaves support for another original Gottlieb arcade title while preserving the
original game hardware and authentic gameplay.
June 5, 2026 — Reactor Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves announced a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Reactor. The release
brought permanent score saving and wireless leaderboard connectivity to compatible
original Gottlieb arcade hardware.
April 30, 2026 — Space Invaders Multigame and Wi-Fi Kit
A Multigame and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Space Invaders. This release
expanded the original arcade hardware beyond a standard single-game format by combining
multiple supported games or variations with wireless score-submission capabilities.
2025 Arcade Kit Releases
Releases documented during 2025 covered a broad range of arcade hardware, including Capcom, Tecmo, Data East, Atari, Bally Midway, and other classic platforms. The year also included the Tapper, Root Beer Tapper, and Timber multigame release.
October 4, 2025 — 1943 Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for 1943: The Battle of
Midway. The release added permanent score saving and wireless leaderboard
functionality for the original vertical-scrolling arcade shooter hardware.
September 10, 2025 — Rygar Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Rygar. This release provided a
HighScoreSaves upgrade option for the original Tecmo arcade PCB while retaining the
original game code, cabinet controls, and gameplay.
July 20, 2025 — Karate Champ One-Player Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented support for the one-player version of Karate Champ.
This release is distinct from the earlier Data East two-player versus version and
identifies the specific arcade hardware supported by the kit.
June 24, 2025 — Arabian Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was announced for Arabian. The release added
permanent high-score saving and wireless scoring support for compatible original arcade
hardware.
March 20, 2025 — Discs of Tron Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Discs of Tron. The
announcement expanded support for original Bally Midway arcade hardware and allowed
compatible machines to participate in wireless leaderboard scoring.
January 4, 2025 — Tapper, Root Beer Tapper, and Timber Multigame and Wi-Fi Kit
A multigame release was documented for Tapper, Root Beer Tapper, and
Timber. The kit combined multiple related Bally Midway titles and included
wireless scoring support for compatible original hardware.
2024 Arcade Kit Releases
HighScoreSaves documented eight releases during 2024. The year included multigame support for Q*bert, Berzerk/Frenzy, and the Taito Multigame centered on Front Line, together with individual Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit releases for several popular raster arcade games.

HighScoreSaves documented a Q*bert Multigame and Wi-Fi Kit. The release expanded the
capabilities of compatible original Gottlieb arcade hardware while retaining the
original PCB platform and cabinet controls.
September 2, 2024 — 1942 Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Capcom's 1942. The release added
permanent high-score saving and wireless leaderboard support for the original arcade
PCB.
August 13, 2024 — Berzerk and Frenzy Multigame and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a combined multigame release for Berzerk and
Frenzy. The kit connected two closely related Stern arcade titles through one
supported upgrade with Wi-Fi scoring capabilities.
July 26, 2024 — Amidar Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was announced for Amidar. The release provided a
game-specific upgrade for compatible original Konami arcade hardware.
July 20, 2024 — Green Beret and Rush'n Attack Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented one release supporting Green Beret and
Rush'n Attack, the regional names associated with the game. The release added
permanent high-score saving and wireless scoring support.
July 16, 2024 — Kung-Fu Master Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Kung-Fu Master. The release added
a modern high-score-saving and wireless scoring option for compatible original Irem
arcade hardware.
July 8, 2024 — Lost Tomb Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves announced a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Lost Tomb. This release
expanded support for another early classic arcade title using its original PCB
hardware.
July 5, 2024 — Taito Multigame (Front Line) and Wi-Fi Kit
This Taito Multigame release is centered on Front Line and supports compatible original Taito arcade hardware with Wi-Fi leaderboard connectivity.
2023 Arcade Kit Releases
The 2023 release archive includes eleven Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit announcements. The games span manufacturers and hardware families including Namco, Sega, Data East, Atari, Konami, and other classic arcade platforms.
December 31, 2023 — Vanguard Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves closed the year with a documented Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for
Vanguard, adding permanent scoring and wireless leaderboard support for the
original horizontal-scrolling shooter hardware.
December 10, 2023 — Mappy Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Namco's Mappy. The release
provided a game-specific score-saving upgrade for compatible original arcade PCBs.
December 5, 2023 — Mega Zone Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Mega Zone. The entry
added another Konami arcade title to the supported release history.
December 3, 2023 — Jail Break Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Jail Break. This release
supported the original Konami arcade hardware and its game-specific scoring system.
November 3, 2023 — BurgerTime Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Data East's
BurgerTime. The release added permanent high-score saving and Wi-Fi scoring
support for the original arcade PCB.
May 4, 2023 — Fast Freddie Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was announced for Fast Freddie. The release expanded
the collection of supported classic arcade games while maintaining use of the original
game board.
April 25, 2023 — Crystal Castles Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Atari's
Crystal Castles. This entry concerns the individual game release rather than
a later or separate multigame project.
March 21, 2023 — Rally-X and New Rally-X Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
One documented release supported both Rally-X and New Rally-X. The
kit provided permanent high-score saving and wireless scoring functionality for the
related Namco arcade games.
January 28, 2023 — Pengo Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Sega's Pengo. The
release added score-saving and wireless leaderboard support for compatible original
arcade hardware.
January 23, 2023 — Xevious Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Namco's Xevious. The release
extended HighScoreSaves support to the original vertical-scrolling shooter platform.
January 10, 2023 — Zaxxon Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Sega's Zaxxon. The
entry records support for the game's original isometric arcade hardware.
2022 Arcade Kit Releases and the Wi-Fi Transition
The 2022 archive marks an important change in HighScoreSaves kit development. The Donkey Kong 3DK release from April used the earlier wired CAT5 network system. Beginning in May 2022, HighScoreSaves moved to Wi-Fi connectivity. Releases documented from August 2022 forward therefore use the Wi-Fi Kit description.
November 5, 2022 — Swimmer Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Swimmer. The release
added another classic arcade title to the wireless leaderboard system.
November 1, 2022 — Arkanoid Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Taito's Arkanoid. The release
supported the original arcade PCB and its distinctive spinner-controlled gameplay.
September 22, 2022 — Guzzler Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves announced a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Guzzler, extending
wireless leaderboard support to another less-common classic arcade title.
September 16, 2022 — Kicker and Shao-lin's Road Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
One release was documented for Kicker, also known as
Shao-lin's Road. The wording identifies the regional names associated with the
supported Konami arcade hardware.
September 12, 2022 — Mikie Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for the standard version of
Mikie. This entry is separate from the earlier release for
Mikie: High School Graffiti.
September 8, 2022 — Yie Ar Kung-Fu Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Yie Ar Kung-Fu. The release added
wireless score submission for compatible original Konami fighting-game hardware.
September 5, 2022 — Roc'n Rope Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit for Roc'n Rope. The
announcement continued a concentrated series of releases for classic Konami titles.
September 2, 2022 — Mikie: High School Graffiti Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A separate release was documented for Mikie: High School Graffiti. Naming the
version clearly distinguishes it from the standard Mikie kit released ten
days later.
August 30, 2022 — Gaplus and Galaga 3 Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
HighScoreSaves documented one release for Gaplus, also known as
Galaga 3. The entry records support under both commonly recognized game names.
August 17, 2022 — Time Pilot '84 Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit
A Save Kit and Wi-Fi Kit was documented for Time Pilot '84. This release is
specific to the sequel and should not be confused with the original
Time Pilot.
April 1, 2022 — Donkey Kong 3DK Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a 3DK Donkey Kong Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit. This release
predates the May 2022 Wi-Fi transition and used the earlier Ethernet cable connection
for score submission.
2021 Arcade Kit Releases
The two documented releases in 2021 focused on multigame systems. Both were developed before the change to Wi-Fi and used the earlier wired CAT5 network connection for compatible connected-scoring features.
August 5, 2021 — Exidy 440 Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
The Exidy 440 Multigame release includes Catch-22, Cheyenne, Chiller, Clay Pigeon, Crackshot, Crossbow, Hit ’n Miss, Showdown, and Who Dunit on compatible original Exidy 440 hardware.
January 15, 2021 — Wizard of Wor and Robby Roto Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
A combined Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Wizard of Wor and
Robby Roto. The release joined two compatible Bally Midway games through one
supported upgrade.
2020 Arcade Kit Releases
The 2020 timeline includes individual Save Kit releases, a Galaxian connected-kit update, and several significant multigame projects for Atari vector and raster hardware. These releases used the earlier wired CAT5 network system.
December 1, 2020 — Gyruss Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit associated with
Gyruss. The release added expanded functionality to compatible original arcade
hardware.
May 15, 2020 — Pooyan Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Konami's Pooyan. The release
provided permanent score saving and wired network connectivity for the original arcade
PCB.
March 15, 2020 — Galaxian Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit Update
HighScoreSaves recorded an update for the existing Galaxian Save Kit and wired
network kit. Because this entry is specifically described as an update, it is separate
from the original Galaxian release documented in 2016.
February 20, 2020 — Millipede, Centipede, Super Breakout, and Warlords Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
A four-game Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Millipede,
Centipede, Super Breakout, and Warlords. The release combined
multiple classic Atari games within one supported multigame platform.
January 27, 2020 — Space Duel, Gravitar, and Black Widow Multigame Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a multigame release combining the Atari vector titles
Space Duel, Gravitar, and Black Widow. The combined
multigame project was listed separately from the individual game releases documented
on the same date.
January 27, 2020 — Gravitar Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
An individual Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Atari's
Gravitar. This entry identifies stand-alone support in addition to the related
multigame announcement.
January 27, 2020 — Black Widow Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
HighScoreSaves also documented an individual Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit for Atari's
Black Widow. It was announced on the same date as the Gravitar release and the
related vector multigame kit.

The Pac-Man Multigame release includes Pac-Man-family games and variations, including Ms. Pac-Man Plus, on compatible original hardware.

HighScoreSaves documented a Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit for Exidy's
Pepper II. The release added permanent score saving and wired scoring
connectivity for the original game hardware.

A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Hyper Sports Rearranged. The
release is identified separately from the original version of Hyper Sports.
July 5, 2019 — Hyper Sports and Track & Field Multigame and Wired CAT5 Kit
This multigame release combines Hyper Sports and Track & Field on compatible original Konami arcade hardware.
March 22, 2019 — Juno First Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
HighScoreSaves documented the availability of a Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit for
Juno First. The release supported the original Konami arcade platform.
February 24, 2019 — Circus Charlie Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented as available for
Circus Charlie. The entry added another Konami title to the HighScoreSaves
release history.
February 20, 2019 — Tron and Satan's Hollow Multigame Kit
HighScoreSaves documented a multigame release for Tron and
Satan's Hollow. The combined project connected two well-known Bally Midway
arcade titles through compatible original hardware.
2018 Arcade Kit Releases and Updates
The 2018 timeline includes Save Kits and Wired CAT5 Kits for raster and vector games, the expanded Scramble Multigame release, and updated Centipede ROMs with documented gameplay and attract-mode enhancements.

Bomb Jack. The release supported the original arcade PCB and its scoring

November 25, 2018 — Carnival Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit

Updated ROMs were documented for Centipede, including features identified in
the archive as stealth mode, attract sounds, and other improvements. This entry
represents a software revision rather than a new game-kit release.
August 8, 2018 — Space Duel Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
On the same date, HighScoreSaves documented the availability of a Save Kit and Wired
CAT5 Kit for Atari's vector arcade game Space Duel.
August 2, 2018 — Battlezone Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Atari's Battlezone. The
release added support for the original vector arcade hardware.
July 30, 2018 — Tempest Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
HighScoreSaves documented the availability of a Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit for
Atari's Tempest. This release supported the game's original color-vector PCB
platform.
May 20, 2018 — Mr. Do! Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented as available for Universal's

A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for the Data East two-player versus
version of Karate Champ. This release is distinct from the one-player version
documented in 2025.
August 15, 2017 — Warlords Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit
A Save Kit and Wired CAT5 Kit was documented for Atari's Warlords. This
individual release predates the later four-game Atari multigame announcement from
2020.
June 5, 2017 — Taito Multigame (Elevator Action) and Wired CAT5 Kit
This Taito Multigame release centered on Elevator Action and also includes Jungle Hunt, Jungle King, Pirate Pete, Sea Fighter Poseidon, Space Seeker, and Time Tunnel on compatible original Taito hardware.
2016 Arcade Kit Releases
