Reactor Free Play and High Score Save Kits
Upgrade an original Gottlieb Reactor arcade PCB with free play, permanent high score saving, configurable game settings, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while continuing to use the original arcade hardware.
HighScoreSaves Reactor kits are designed specifically for original Gottlieb hardware rather than emulation or replacement game boards. The upgrade adds modern score-saving and convenience features while preserving authentic Reactor gameplay, sound, timing, and the original arcade PCB.
Choose a Standard Kit for local high score saving or a Wi-Fi Enabled Kit for local saving plus online score uploads through the HighScoreSaves leaderboard system.
About Reactor Arcade Upgrades
Reactor was released by Gottlieb and runs on original arcade PCB hardware. HighScoreSaves upgrade kits are designed to work with that original hardware while adding modern convenience, score-saving, and configuration features.
High Score Saving
The Reactor kit adds battery-free high score retention so supported scores remain saved after the cabinet is powered off. Saved scores are stored locally on the upgrade for reliable long-term retention.
Free Play and Game Settings
Free Play allows Reactor to be started without inserting coins while retaining normal coin operation when desired. Supported gameplay and convenience settings can also be adjusted through the HighScoreSaves on-screen settings menu.
Standard and Wi-Fi Enabled Kits
Standard kits save scores locally on the arcade hardware. Wi-Fi Enabled kits include the same local score-saving features and add the ability to upload qualifying scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard system.
Installation on Original Gottlieb Hardware
The Reactor upgrade is designed for the original Gottlieb PCB and installs at the required processor and program ROM locations. When the necessary components are already socketed, installation is straightforward and does not require permanent modification to the game board.
Original Program ROM Support
The daughterboard supplies the required game code, allowing the original program ROMs to be removed where supported. This reduces dependence on aging original ROM devices while keeping the original Gottlieb Reactor PCB in service.
Preserve the Original Reactor PCB
HighScoreSaves kits are intended for collectors, restorers, and arcade owners who want additional features without replacing the original game board with an emulation-based system. The original Gottlieb Reactor PCB remains the core hardware running the game.
