The HighScoreSaves Berzerk and Frenzy Multigame Free Play and High Score Save Kit is designed for documented compatible original Stern arcade hardware. It installs as a Z80 daughterboard on the original processor board rather than replacing the arcade hardware with an emulator, reproduction PCB, or generic multicade system.
The current installation documentation identifies two supported processor-board types: the original Stern ZPU and the later ZZPU. Confirm which processor PCB is in the cabinet and verify the Z80 socket before ordering.

How the Berzerk & Frenzy Z80 Installation Works
The Berzerk / Frenzy multigame kit uses a single Z80 daughter card. A compatible Z80 processor is required.
The existing Z80 is removed from the ZPU or ZZPU processor board and installed into the corresponding 40-pin socket on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard. Pin 1 orientation must be matched carefully during the transfer.
The completed daughterboard assembly is then installed into the original Z80 socket on the ZPU or ZZPU. Check every header pin, processor pin, socket position, and Pin 1 orientation before cabinet power is restored.

Which processor does the kit use?
