How the Cheyenne Exidy 440 Installation Works
The Exidy 440 installation works with both the original CPU PCB and sound PCB. The boards are separated during installation so the required processors, ROMs, and daughter cards can be installed in their documented locations.
On the CPU board, designated EPROMs are removed and the 6809E processor is transferred to the kit. The main daughter card is then installed into the documented board sockets. On the sound board, the 6809 processor and designated EPROMs are removed before the sound daughter-card assemblies are installed.
Before restoring cabinet power, verify processor orientation, Pin 1 alignment, daughter-card seating, socket condition, ribbon-cable connections, DIP-switch positions, and all other installation steps shown in the current Exidy 440 guide.
