Important Before Ordering
- Choose the Wi-Fi Enabled version during checkout if you want online score uploading.
- Standard Kits do not include the Wi-Fi module, required Wi-Fi hardware, oscillator, socket, or status LEDs.
- There is no automatic exchange program for converting a Standard Kit to Wi-Fi later.

Wi-Fi Enabled Kit or Standard Kit
Choose a Standard Kit If
- You only want local high score saving.
- You do not need online score uploading.
- You do not plan to use the online leaderboard system.
- You want the lowest-cost version of the kit.
Choose a Wi-Fi Enabled Kit If
- You want scores uploaded online.
- You want to compete on global, national, or local leaderboards.
- You want your own online high score page.
- You own multiple compatible Wi-Fi Enabled Kits and want them tied to the same account.
How Wi-Fi Enabled Kits Work
Wi-Fi Enabled Kits save scores on your arcade cabinet and can also upload scores online to your personal scoreboard page and supported leaderboards.
After your Wi-Fi Enabled Kit ships, HighScoreSaves may request setup information needed to create or update your online high score account. Once your page is ready, you will receive your PK and SK keys and setup instructions.
Your PK and SK keys are used to connect your compatible Wi-Fi Enabled Kit to your online high score account.

Wi-Fi Setup Emails You Will Receive
After your Wi-Fi Enabled Kit ships, watch for the following emails from sales@highscoresaves.com.
Subject: 🔓 Wi-Fi High Score Page Setup Information Needed
This email requests the information needed to create or update your personal online high score page.
Subject: 🔑 Your PK and SK Keys Are Ready!
This email contains your PK and SK keys, personal leaderboard URL, and Wi-Fi setup instructions.
Check your spam or junk folder if you do not see these messages.
Enter Your PK and SK Keys in the Kit Menu
Before the Wi-Fi module is connected to your home network, enter your PK and SK keys into the arcade kit menu.
- Enter the kit setup menu.
- Find the online or Wi-Fi settings section.
- Enter your PK exactly as provided.
- Enter your SK exactly as provided.
- Set the online feature to the required enabled setting, commonly ON-T.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu.
- Select Save to store the settings.
- Restart or return to the game as instructed by the kit menu.
Connect the Wi-Fi Module to Your Home Network
After entering your PK and SK keys in the arcade kit menu, connect the Wi-Fi module to your home wireless network.
- Power on your arcade machine with the Wi-Fi Enabled Kit installed.
- Wait about 30 seconds for the Wi-Fi module to finish starting.
- On your phone, tablet, or computer, open your Wi-Fi settings.
- Connect to the temporary Wi-Fi network being broadcast by the kit module.
- Open a web browser.
- Go to 192.168.4.1.
- Select your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Press Save.
- Wait for the Wi-Fi module to restart and connect to your home network.
- Reconnect your phone, tablet, or computer to your normal Wi-Fi network.
- Continue with the PK and SK key setup in the arcade kit menu.
Test Your Connection and Upload Your First Score
After the Wi-Fi module is connected and your PK and SK keys are saved, play a game and enter initials when prompted. Supported kits upload score data after initials are entered and the game completes the score-saving process.
- Confirm the kit is connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm the PK and SK keys are entered correctly.
- Confirm the online setting is enabled in the kit menu.
- Play a game and enter initials when prompted.
- Check your personal high score page or leaderboard after the score is submitted.
Monitor Status Messages and Troubleshooting
During startup, your arcade monitor may briefly display status messages that indicate the current connection state of the Wi-Fi module. These messages can help identify where a connection problem is occurring.
DHCP REQUEST
Initialization status. The Wi-Fi module is requesting an IP address from your wireless network. This is normal and good.
DHCP OK
You are successfully connected to your WLAN network and successfully connected to www.arcadehighscores.com.
Note: This message appears quickly, so sometimes DHCP OK may not be seen.
DHCP ERROR A / DHCP ERROR F
These messages may alternate. They mean the Wi-Fi module could not connect to the saved access point and went into Setup Mode.
This can also mean the Wi-Fi module has not been set up to an access point yet and is currently in access point mode so the customer can set up the network.
When the Wi-Fi module is in access point mode, the customer has approximately 10 minutes to set up the network. During this time, the green and red LEDs on the save kit PCB flash alternately.
DNS ERROR A / DNS ERROR D
These messages may alternate. They mean the WLAN is connected, but the module is trying to connect to arcadehighscores.com and receives an error message in response.
Possible causes include:
- Incorrect PK or SK keys.
- The customer is not set up in the database yet.
- The customer is not allowed to send scores.
When this error occurs, the red LED on the save kit PCB flashes very fast for approximately one second.
Network Notes
- Wi-Fi Enabled Kits require a compatible wireless network.
- Your Wi-Fi network must support 2.4 GHz connections.
- Signal strength, router settings, passwords, firewalls, and local network conditions can affect uploading.
- Scores may still save locally even if online uploading fails.
- Older wired online kits may require Cat5 or Cat6 Ethernet cabling and compatible network settings.
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Setup
Scores Are Not Uploading
- Confirm the kit is a Wi-Fi Enabled or online-capable version.
- Confirm online uploading is enabled in the kit menu.
- Confirm the PK and SK keys are entered exactly as provided.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi module is connected to your home network.
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network supports 2.4 GHz.
- Confirm the cabinet has a strong enough Wi-Fi signal.
Cannot Connect to the Module Network
- Power cycle the arcade machine and wait about 30 seconds.
- Check your phone, tablet, or computer Wi-Fi settings again.
- Move closer to the arcade cabinet during setup.
- Try another phone, tablet, or computer if the setup network does not appear.
Wrong Wi-Fi Password Entered
If the wrong home Wi-Fi password was entered, reset the Wi-Fi module setup and repeat the network setup process. On supported modules, holding the reset button for approximately 5 seconds while powered on may return the module to setup mode.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add Wi-Fi later?
Standard Kits do not include the required Wi-Fi hardware. Wi-Fi functionality cannot be added later unless a specific upgrade product is offered for that kit.
Where do my scores appear?
Scores appear on your arcade cabinet and, when properly configured, online on your personal high score page and supported leaderboards.
Do all my Wi-Fi kits use the same PK and SK keys?
Yes. If you have more than one compatible Wi-Fi Enabled Kit tied to the same online account, you will normally use the same PK and SK keys for each supported kit.
Does Wi-Fi affect gameplay?
No. Wi-Fi score uploading happens after a score is saved and does not affect normal gameplay.
