Choosing the Correct Crazy Kong Arcade PCB Upgrade
A Crazy Kong cabinet, marquee, control panel, or game screen does not by itself identify the arcade PCB installed inside the machine. Crazy Kong was produced on several hardware families, and vintage cabinets may also have been repaired, converted, or fitted with replacement boards.
HighScoreSaves offers two different upgrade paths. The Crazy Kong Part II Free Play and High Score Save Kit is intended for documented compatible original Falcon hardware, while the Crazy Kong Remix Multigame Kit supports a broader group of compatible Crazy Kong boards built on Falcon-style hardware.
Crazy Kong Part II and Remix PCB Compatibility
How the Crazy Kong Z80 Installation Works
Both Crazy Kong upgrade paths use the Z80 CPU location on the compatible original arcade PCB. The existing Z80 is removed from the game board and installed into the HighScoreSaves daughter card or Remix multigame board.
The completed kit is then installed into the original Z80 location. Pin 1 orientation must be verified on both the Z80 and the upgrade board before cabinet power is restored.
If the Z80 is soldered directly to the arcade PCB, it must be desoldered and a compatible 40-pin DIP socket installed first. Falcon boards are especially important to inspect because some examples have a soldered Z80.

Crazy Kong Part II Free Play and High Score Save Kit
The Crazy Kong Part II kit keeps the compatible original Falcon PCB in service while adding permanent Top 5 high score saving, Free Play, Coin-Up support, on-screen settings, attract-mode options, ROM Saver support, Reset Button functionality, Fast Boot, and other supported operator features.
The Part II kit is available in Standard and optional Wi-Fi Enabled versions. The Wi-Fi version retains local score saving while adding supported online leaderboard uploads.
Crazy Kong Remix Multigame Kit
Crazy Kong Remix keeps compatible original Crazy Kong hardware in service while adding an on-screen Game Select menu, per-game permanent high score saving, individual game settings, selectable default boot game, and additional Crazy Kong gameplay variations.
The six included Crazy Kong variants are Crazy Kong Remix, Crazy Kong, Crazy Kong Part II, Crazy Kong 2023 Revision, Big Kong, and Crazy Kong Alternate Levels.
The original Crazy Kong ROMs already installed on the PCB can also remain available through the game-selection system. Remix gameplay additions include blue hammer jumping, collapsing floors, crushable fireballs, reversible elevators, restored six-elevator behavior, and a new kill screen.
