Tapper and Timber Cabinet Control Mapping
The kit maps controls so each game plays correctly with the installed control panel. This is especially important because Tapper and Timber cabinets use different physical controls.
In a Tapper cabinet, Timber is supported as a one-player game. Tap plus joystick left chops left, and Tap plus joystick right chops right.
In a Timber cabinet, Tapper uses the Player 1 joystick, and the left/right chop controls act as tap inputs. Timber supports two-player simultaneous play when installed in a Timber cabinet.
Included Games and Score Saving
The Tapper | Timber Multigame kit includes Tapper, Timber, Root Beer Tapper, and Simpsons Tapper. Each supported game can use its own saved score table and menu setup.
The kit saves Top 10 scores by default and supports optional Top 3 score-saving behavior. Supported scores and settings are stored locally using serial EEPROM instead of batteries or NVRAM.
Backup and Restore support allows saved score data to be preserved before service work, events, parties, transport, or testing.
Free Play, Coin-Up, Attract Sounds, and Boot Options
Free Play allows the supported games to start without inserting coins. Traditional Coin-Up operation can still be used when desired, preserving flexibility for home arcades, collectors, routed games, and events.
Attract sounds can be configured at 25%, 50%, or 100%. Attract mode protection helps reduce static screen burn during idle periods while still preserving the classic game presentation.
Selectable boot-game support lets the cabinet owner choose Tapper, Timber, Root Beer Tapper, Simpsons Tapper, or the last played game at startup. Menu lock and Stealth Mode help control what players and guests can access.
