How the Berzerk & Frenzy Z80 Daughter-Card Installation Works
The HighScoreSaves multigame upgrade installs through the documented Z80 processor location on compatible original Stern hardware. A suitable 40-pin CPU socket is required for the daughter card.
The compatible original Z80 can be transferred to the daughterboard unless a compatible processor option is selected. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the upgrade can be fitted.
Before restoring cabinet power, verify CPU and Pin 1 orientation, processor alignment, socket condition, daughter-card seating, and any designated program-ROM locations identified in the installation guide.
