This upgrade uses the original Z80 processor and authentic Capcom arcade hardware. Installation is plug and play when the Z80 CPU is already socketed. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified technician must install a 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

Before Ordering: Confirm that your machine contains a compatible original Capcom 1942 arcade PCB. Access to the PCB is required during installation. This kit is not designed for emulation systems, bootleg boards, or replacement multigame hardware.

Choose the Right 1942 Arcade PCB Upgrade

The 1942 Free Play and High Score Save Kit is available in Standard and optional Wi-Fi-enabled configurations. Both versions preserve the original Capcom gameplay while adding battery-free score storage, Free Play, configurable settings, and additional practice and attract-mode features.

Standard Kit

  • Permanent local score saving — Scores and supported settings remain stored after the arcade machine is powered off
  • No internet connection required — All score-saving functions operate directly on the installed arcade PCB
  • Free Play and coin operation — Use coin-free play while retaining normal coin operation when desired

Wi-Fi Enabled Kit

  • Includes all Standard Kit features — Scores continue to be stored locally on the arcade PCB
  • Online score submission — Qualifying scores can be submitted to the HighScoreSaves global leaderboard after initials are entered
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi support — Connects through a compatible 2.4 GHz wireless network
  • Optional connection — Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay

1942 Kit Features

  • Battery-free score storage — Displays the Top 5 scores and stores up to 25 scores
  • On-screen settings menu — Adjust supported game options through the arcade controls after installation

Installation Requirements

The original Z80 processor must be installed in a 40-pin socket. Installation is plug and play when the CPU is already socketed.

If the Z80 is soldered directly to the arcade PCB, a qualified technician must remove the processor and install a 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.
