Free Play and Permanent High Scores
Free Play allows supported games to start without inserting coins while retaining traditional Coin-Up operation as an available setting. Each supported game stores its own Top 5 score table with initials.
Supported score data is stored using serial EEPROM, so batteries and NVRAM are not required for saved scores. Backup and restore functions are included for supported high score data.
The kit also supports separate score tables for 2, 3, and 4 lives settings. This keeps supported score results organized across different gameplay configurations.
