The Darksoft UltraSIMM setup replaces the standard CPS3 SIMMs with six higher-capacity programmable SIMMs. Once correctly programmed and installed, the system can hold up to eight game selections and switch between them using the included DIP-bank selector. A power cycle is required after changing the selected game.
Confirm CPS3 Compatibility and Required Hardware
- Requires a working original Capcom CPS3 motherboard.
- Requires a compatible UltraBIOS cartridge.
- Original Capcom cartridges with a custom SH-2 processor and reproduction cartridges with a standard SH-2 processor are supported when the correct programming files are used.
- The kit includes two dual-flash UltraSIMMs for motherboard slots 1 and 2 and four single-flash UltraSIMMs for slots 3 through 6.
- Two programming adapters are included for use with a ProMan or TL86_Plus programmer. The programmer itself is not included.
- The two dual-flash SIMMs require both memory banks to be programmed using the SIMM 512 adapter and its U9/U10 selector.
- The four single-flash SIMMs use the separate SIMM 1G adapter and require one programmed file per SIMM.
- File selection for SIMMs 1 and 2 must match the custom SH-2 or standard SH-2 cartridge type being used.
