Darksoft Ultra CPS3 SIMM Multigame Kit Overview
The Darksoft Ultra CPS3 SIMM Multigame Kit is designed for compatible original Capcom CPS3 arcade hardware. It replaces the standard CPS3 SIMMs with six higher-capacity programmable UltraSIMMs capable of holding up to eight compatible CPS-III game configurations.
Once the UltraSIMMs are programmed and installed, games are selected with the included three-switch DIP-bank selector. The selected game starts after the CPS3 system is power-cycled, avoiding repeated CD-based loading when changing among the programmed selections.

- Two dual-flash UltraSIMMs for CPS3 motherboard slots 1 and 2

- One SIMM 512 dual-flash programmer adapter and connecting cable

Required Hardware
- A working original Capcom CPS3 motherboard
- A compatible UltraBIOS cartridge
- A ProMan, also known as a TL86_Plus, programmer if you will program the UltraSIMMs yourself
- Compatible CPS3 programming files that match the security-cartridge processor type
The programmer adapters are included with the kit. The ProMan/TL86_Plus programmer is not included.
Security-Cartridge Compatibility
The UltraSIMMs can be used with either of the following UltraBIOS cartridge configurations:
- An original Capcom cartridge containing a custom SH-2 processor
- A reproduction cartridge containing a standard SH-2 processor
UltraSIMMs 1 and 2 must be programmed with the files intended for the processor type installed in the cartridge. Some modified game versions may require a reproduction cartridge with a standard SH-2 processor.
Programming the UltraSIMMs
UltraSIMMs 1 and 2
The two dual-flash UltraSIMMs use the adapter labeled SIMM 512. Each SIMM contains two memory banks. Program one bank with the adapter selector set to U9, then program the second bank with the selector set to U10.
UltraSIMMs 3 Through 6
The four single-flash UltraSIMMs use the adapter labeled SIMM 1G. These SIMMs use one programming file each and do not require the U9/U10 bank selector.
Follow the complete installation guide carefully. Disconnect the programmer from USB before changing an adapter or UltraSIMM, verify the orientation of every connection, and confirm that each programming operation completes and verifies successfully.
Installation and Game Selection
- Install the dual-flash UltraSIMMs in motherboard slots 1 and 2.
- Install the single-flash UltraSIMMs in slots 3 through 6.
- Connect the daisy-chain selector cable to all six UltraSIMMs using the orientation shown in the installation guide.
- Install the compatible UltraBIOS cartridge.
- Select the desired game with the three-switch DIP bank.
- Power-cycle the CPS3 system to start the selected game.
Important
- This UltraSIMM kit does not use a microSD card.
- The UltraSIMMs must be programmed before they are installed and used.
- Use programming files that match the custom SH-2 or standard SH-2 processor in your UltraBIOS cartridge.

Another great Darksoft kit
As I have purchased a few other of the Darksoft kits, just take your time reading the install yand you'll wish you had the kit sooner. Great stuff!
