Amidar Free Play and High Score Save Kit for Konami Arcade PCB

Upgrade a compatible original Konami Amidar arcade PCB with permanent Top 10 high score saving, Free Play, adjustable attract sounds, menu-driven settings, lives-based score tables, ROM Saver, God Mode, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade hardware.

The HighScoreSaves daughter card installs at the documented Z80 processor location on compatible original Amidar hardware. This is an original-PCB upgrade rather than a replacement JAMMA board, reproduction PCB, generic multicade system, or software-emulation platform.

Choose Your Amidar Kit Configuration

Select either a Standard Save Kit for local score and settings storage or a Wi-Fi Enabled Kit that adds qualifying online score submission to the HighScoreSaves leaderboard.

Processor and compatible 40-pin Z80 socket options may also be selected when needed for compatible original Konami Amidar hardware.

Amidar Settings Menu and God Mode

To access the HighScoreSaves Amidar settings menu, hold Player 1 Start while turning the cabinet on. Release the button when the on-screen prompt instructs you to continue.

God Mode provides unlimited lives for practice, testing, and game familiarization. High scores are intentionally not saved while God Mode is enabled.

Amidar Installation Requirements

• Original PCB: Designed for documented compatible original Konami Amidar arcade PCBs
• Z80 Processor: Installation uses the documented Z80 processor location on the original PCB
• 40-Pin CPU Socket: The Z80 processor location must use a compatible 40-pin socket
• Already Socketed: No soldering is required when the original Z80 location is already properly socketed
• Soldered Z80: If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must remove it and install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used
• Processor Transfer: The compatible original Z80 is removed from the PCB, installed on the daughter card, and the assembled daughter card is installed into the original CPU socket
• ROM Saver: Remove only the designated original program ROMs identified in the Amidar installation guide
• Before Power-Up: Verify Pin 1 orientation, processor alignment, CPU socket condition, daughter-card seating, ROM-removal locations, and all processor pins

Does this kit require an original Konami Amidar PCB?

Yes. The kit is designed for documented compatible original Konami Amidar arcade PCBs and is not a replacement arcade board.

Does the Z80 processor need to be socketed?

Yes. The documented Z80 processor location must use a compatible 40-pin socket before the HighScoreSaves daughter card can be installed.

Do I need to solder anything?

No soldering is required when the original Z80 CPU is already socketed. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed first.

How many Amidar high scores are saved?

The kit permanently saves the Top 10 Amidar scores with multiple score tables based on the selected lives setting.

Does Amidar support Free Play and normal coin operation?

Yes. Free Play is supported while optional Coin-Up operation remains available when normal coin or token play is preferred.

How do I open the Amidar settings menu?

What does God Mode do?

God Mode provides unlimited lives for practice. Scores earned while God Mode is active are not saved.

Does the Amidar kit support Upright and Cocktail cabinets?

Yes. The kit supports documented compatible Upright and Cocktail Amidar cabinet configurations using original Konami hardware.

What does ROM Saver do?

ROM Saver allows designated original program ROMs to be removed when the kit is installed according to the Amidar installation guide.

What is the difference between Standard and Wi-Fi?

Both versions save supported scores locally. The Wi-Fi Enabled Kit additionally supports qualifying online leaderboard submission through a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
