The HighScoreSaves Xevious Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades compatible original Namco and Atari Xevious arcade hardware with permanent Top 5 score saving, Free Play, selectable initials options, on-screen settings, separate lives-based score tables, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, built-in diagnostic tools, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard functionality while continuing to use the original Xevious arcade PCB, controls, sound, timing, and gameplay hardware.
Xevious Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the required Z80 location is already socketed. The original Z80 is removed from the Xevious PCB, installed on the HighScoreSaves daughter card, and the daughter card is installed at the documented CPU location. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed first.
Xevious Settings Menu Access
Power the cabinet off, hold Player 1 Start, power the cabinet back on, and release the button when prompted on screen.

What's Included
The original Z80 processor from your Xevious PCB is installed on the daughter card during installation.
The Namco and Atari Xevious PCB versions use different documented component locations. Identify the exact board version and use the matching installation instructions before removing the Z80 or installing the daughter card.
Player 1 and Player 2 Start buttons do not illuminate while Free Play mode is active.
Verify the correct Namco or Atari PCB version, Z80 orientation, Pin 1 alignment, CPU socket condition, daughter-card seating, and clearance beneath the daughter card. Make sure the daughter card does not contact test points or other components before applying power.
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores locally and includes Free Play, Top 5 score saving, initials options, lives-based score tables, menu-driven settings, diagnostics, Backup and Restore, ROM Saver, and other supported local functionality without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local high score, gameplay, and diagnostic functionality while adding compatible online leaderboard support.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Yes. Separate supported score tables are available for 2, 3, and 4 lives.

Simple install
I installed this kit in my Xevious cabinet and it worked great from the start. I really like having high score saving and Free Play without changing the original feel of the game. I’d definitely recommend this kit to any Xevious owner looking for a simple, worthwhile upgrade.
