The HighScoreSaves Time Pilot Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades compatible original Konami Time Pilot arcade hardware with permanent Top 5 high score saving with initials, Free Play, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, fast self-test access, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while continuing to use the original arcade PCB, controls, sound, and gameplay hardware.
Time Pilot Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original Z80 processor is already socketed. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before the kit can be fitted.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores locally and includes the core Free Play, attract-sound, menu, Backup and Restore, ROM Saver, and high score features without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local functionality and adds supported online score submission to the HighScoreSaves leaderboard platform.
Wi-Fi hardware must be selected when ordering and cannot be added later to a Standard kit.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

The kit is designed for compatible original Konami Time Pilot arcade hardware.
Which processor does the kit use?
The kit installs at the documented 40-pin Z80 processor location on compatible original Time Pilot hardware.
What comes with the base kit?
The base Time Pilot kit includes one HighScoreSaves Z80 daughter card.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the Time Pilot PCB already has the proper compatible socket at the Z80 location. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a 40-pin socket must be installed first.
How many high scores are saved?
The kit permanently stores the Top 5 supported high scores with initials and maintains separate supported score tables for 2, 3, or 4 lives.
How do I enter the settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start for approximately four seconds while turning on the cabinet and release the button when prompted on screen.
Can I still use coins?
Yes. The kit supports both Free Play and normal coin-up operation.
Can I back up and restore high scores?
Yes. Backup and Restore functionality is included.
What does ROM Saver do?
The kit can run the supported game program without relying on the original program ROMs, allowing those documented ROMs to be removed and stored if desired.
Does it support upright and cocktail cabinets?
Yes. Both documented upright and cocktail Time Pilot cabinet configurations are supported.
