Space Zap Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the documented Z80 processor location is already properly socketed. No soldering, trace cutting, special wiring, or permanent PCB modification is required in that configuration. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the board, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before fitting the kit.
Space Zap ROM Saver Configuration
Space Zap uses a game-specific ROM Saver arrangement. With the HighScoreSaves kit installed, the original Program/ROM/RAM board is not required.
The required graphics RAM remains installed for normal operation. Follow the Space Zap installation guide carefully when changing the original board configuration.

Separate Space Zap High Score Tables
Space Zap keeps supported scores separated by lives configuration. Independent high-score tables are available for 2, 3, 4, and 5 lives, allowing scores earned under different lives settings to remain separate.
Installation Checks Before Power-Up
Confirm Pin 1 orientation, daughterboard seating, processor-pin alignment, Z80 socket condition, and the documented Space Zap board configuration before applying cabinet power.

Standard Kit
Stores supported Space Zap scores and settings locally and provides normal gameplay, Free Play, Coin-Up operation, attract sounds, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, separate score tables, Reset Button operation, Stealth Mode, and menu-driven settings without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local functionality and adds qualifying online score submission to the HighScoreSaves global leaderboard.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
