Upgrade a compatible original Atari Space Duel vector arcade PCB with Free Play, permanent Top 10 high score saving with initials, adjustable attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade hardware.

This HighScoreSaves kit installs at the original board's 6502 processor location. It is an upgrade for compatible original Atari Space Duel hardware rather than a replacement JAMMA board, reproduction PCB, generic multicade system, or software-emulation platform.

Choose Your Space Duel Kit Configuration

Select either a Standard Save Kit for local score and settings storage or a Wi-Fi Enabled Kit that adds qualifying online score submission to the HighScoreSaves leaderboard.

Processor and compatible 40-pin 6502 socket options may also be selected when needed for documented compatible original Atari Space Duel hardware.

On-Screen Settings, ROM Saver, and Stealth Mode

Supported gameplay and operator settings can be adjusted through the kit's on-screen menu, reducing the need to repeatedly open the cabinet for common configuration changes.

ROM Saver allows designated original program ROMs to be removed when the kit is installed according to the Space Duel installation guide, while the supported program code runs from the upgrade.

Stealth Mode allows the cabinet to boot directly into normal Space Duel gameplay, while Fast Boot and Reset Button functions provide additional operator convenience.

Space Duel Installation Requirements

• Original PCB: Designed for documented compatible original Atari Space Duel vector arcade PCBs
• 6502 Processor: The documented 6502 CPU location must use a compatible 40-pin socket
• Already Socketed: No soldering, trace cutting, special wiring, or permanent PCB modification is required when the processor location is already properly socketed
• Soldered CPU: If the original 6502 is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before fitting the kit
• ROM Saver: Remove only the designated program ROMs identified in the installation guide
• Before Power-Up: Confirm Pin 1 orientation, daughterboard seating, socket condition, ROM locations, and processor-pin alignment

Does this kit require an original Atari Space Duel PCB?
