Rally X Lite Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original Z80 is already socketed. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before the Lite daughter card can be used. No special wiring is required when the documented Z80 location is properly socketed.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores and settings locally and provides Free Play, Coin-Up operation, local score saving, and menu operation without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local functionality and adds qualifying online leaderboard score submission through the HighScoreSaves platform.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Which games are included?
The Rally X Lite Kit includes Rally X and New Rally X for documented compatible original Rally-X arcade hardware.
How is the Lite Kit different from the Rally-X Multigame Kit?
The Lite Kit uses a compact single Z80 daughter card and continues to use the original PCB color PROM hardware. The full Multigame version uses additional supported graphics and color hardware.
Does the Lite Kit replace the original color PROMs?
No. The compatible original PCB color PROM hardware remains in use with the Lite configuration.
Does the Z80 processor need to be socketed?
Yes. The documented Z80 processor location must use a compatible 40-pin socket before the daughter card can be installed.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the documented Z80 processor location is already properly socketed. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed first.
How many high scores are saved?
The kit stores the Top 5 supported scores with player initials.
Why are there up to 16 score tables?
Supported score-table combinations are separated according to lives and bonus settings so scores from different supported configurations can remain separate.
Can I still use coins?
Yes. Free Play is available while traditional Coin-Up operation remains supported when quarters or tokens are desired.
Does the kit support upright and cocktail cabinets?
The documented Lite hardware supports compatible upright and cocktail configurations.
Is Wi-Fi required?
No. The Standard Save Kit stores supported scores and settings locally. Wi-Fi is optional for qualifying online leaderboard score submission.
