The HighScoreSaves Radar Scope Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades documented compatible original Nintendo Radar Scope arcade hardware with Free Play, permanent Top 5 score saving with initials, up to eight-character player entry, battery-free serial EEPROM storage, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original Nintendo arcade PCB.

Installation: Plug-in installation when the original Z80 is already socketed. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before the kit can be used.

What This Kit Adds
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores and settings locally and provides Free Play, Coin-Up operation, menu settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, and other documented local features without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and adds qualifying online leaderboard score submission through the HighScoreSaves platform.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Does this kit require an original Nintendo Radar Scope PCB?
Yes. The kit is designed for documented compatible original Nintendo Radar Scope arcade PCBs and is not a replacement arcade board.
Which processor is required?
A compatible Z80 processor is required at the documented CPU location.
Does the Z80 need to be socketed?
Yes. The documented Z80 location must use a compatible 40-pin socket before the daughterboard can be installed.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the documented Z80 processor location is already properly socketed. If the CPU is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed first.
How many high scores does the Radar Scope kit save?
The kit permanently saves the Top 5 supported Radar Scope scores with player initials.
How many characters can be entered for initials?
Supported high-score entries allow up to eight characters.
How do I access the Radar Scope settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start for approximately four seconds while turning the cabinet on. Release the button when prompted on screen.
Can I use Free Play and normal coin operation?
Yes. Free Play can be used while traditional Coin-Up operation remains available when coins or tokens are desired.
Does the kit support upright and cocktail cabinets?
Yes. The kit supports documented compatible upright and cocktail Radar Scope configurations.
Is Wi-Fi required?
No. Standard kits save supported scores and settings locally. Wi-Fi is optional for qualifying online leaderboard submission.
