Pooyan Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when a compatible standard Z80 is already installed in the required 40-pin socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

What This Kit Adds
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Permanently saves supported scores and settings locally and provides Free Play, Coin-Up support, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, separate score tables, Reset Button support, and other documented local features without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and adds qualifying online leaderboard score submission through the HighScoreSaves platform.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Which arcade PCB does the Pooyan kit support?
The kit is designed for documented compatible original Konami Pooyan arcade PCBs.
Which processor is required?
A standard Z80 processor is required at the documented CPU location.
Are encrypted Z80 processors compatible?
No. Encrypted Z80 processors are not compatible with this save kit.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the documented Z80 processor location already has a compatible 40-pin socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible socket must be installed first.
How many high scores does the Pooyan kit save?
The kit permanently stores the Top 10 supported scores with player initials.
How do I access the Pooyan settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start while turning the cabinet on. Release the button when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue.
Are separate score tables supported?
Yes. Separate supported score tables are available for 2-, 3-, and 4-lives settings.
Can saved scores be backed up and restored?
Yes. Supported saved high scores can be backed up and restored later.
Are upright and cocktail cabinets supported?
Yes. Documented compatible upright and cocktail cabinet configurations are supported.
Is Wi-Fi required?
No. Standard kits save supported scores and settings locally. Wi-Fi is optional for online leaderboard support.
