Pac-Man Plus Free Play and High Score Save Kit for original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man arcade PCBs

The HighScoreSaves Pac-Man Plus Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades documented compatible original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man arcade PCBs with original-speed and fast Pac-Man Plus, Free Play, permanent Top 10 score and initials saving, independent speed-mode score tables, extended scoring, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver functionality, Backup and Restore, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade PCB.

Pac-Man Plus Compatibility & Requirements

Compatible PCB: Documented compatible original Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man arcade PCB

Processor: Compatible Z80 processor

Processor Location: Documented 40-pin Z80 socket

Processor Transfer: Original Z80 is transferred from the PCB to the HighScoreSaves daughterboard unless a compatible processor option is selected

Soldering: Not required when the documented Z80 location already has a compatible 40-pin socket

Program ROMs: Designated original row 6 program ROMs must be removed as directed in the installation guide

Cabinet Support: Documented upright and cocktail cabinet configurations

Installation: Plug-in installation when the documented Z80 processor location is already socketed. The original Z80 is moved to the daughterboard unless a compatible processor option is selected. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

During attract mode, hold Player 1 Start for approximately four seconds to open the supported game and settings menu.

Player Initials Permanently saves qualifying player initials with supported high scores.

Separate Speed-Mode Score Tables Original-speed and fast Pac-Man Plus maintain independent supported high-score tables.

Extended Scoring Saves and displays supported scores as high as 9,999,990 without the standard lower-value rollover display.

Free Play Start Pac-Man Plus without inserting coins while retaining traditional coin operation when Free Play is disabled.

Battery-Free Serial EEPROM Saves supported scores, initials, settings, and configuration data locally without batteries.

Adjustable Attract Sounds Select attract sound for 25%, 50%, or every supported attract-screen rotation, or disable attract audio.

Rotating Attract Displays Changes supported attract screens rather than continuously displaying one static screen.

Menu-Driven Settings Adjust supported game and operator options through the on-screen menu instead of changing physical DIP switches.

Saved Configuration Supported configuration settings remain stored locally after changes are made.

ROM Saver The kit supplies the supported program code while the designated original row 6 program ROMs are removed as directed.

Backup & Restore Manage supported saved-score data through the kit menu.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit

Standard Kit

Permanently saves supported scores, initials, settings, and configuration data locally and includes both Pac-Man Plus speed versions, Free Play, extended scoring, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, and other documented local features without requiring an internet connection.

Wi-Fi Enabled Kit

Includes the same local features and adds supported online score submission after qualifying initials are entered.

Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Which Pac-Man Plus versions are included?

The kit includes original-speed Pac-Man Plus and fast Pac-Man Plus.

Does this kit include regular Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man?

No. It can install on documented compatible Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man hardware, but its selectable game content is Pac-Man Plus. Choose one of the multigame kits when additional games are wanted.

How is the HighScoreSaves menu opened?

Hold Player 1 Start for approximately four seconds during attract mode.

How many high scores are saved?

The kit permanently stores the Top 10 supported scores and qualifying player initials.

Are fast and original-speed scores separated?

Yes. The two Pac-Man Plus speed versions maintain independent supported high-score tables.
