The HighScoreSaves Mikie Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades documented compatible original Konami Mikie arcade hardware with Free Play, permanent Top 5 score saving with initials, battery-free serial EEPROM storage, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver functionality, Backup and Restore, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original Konami arcade PCB and authentic gameplay.

Processor: 6809E processor

Processor Location: Compatible 40-pin CPU socket

Soldering: Not required when the original 6809E is already socketed

ROM Saver: Supports optional removal of designated original program ROMs as directed in the installation guide

Cabinet Support: Upright and cocktail cabinet configurations

Installation: Plug-in installation when the original 6809E is already socketed. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit

Standard Kit

Permanently saves supported scores locally and provides Free Play, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, ROM Saver, Backup and Restore, and other documented local features without requiring an internet connection.

Wi-Fi Enabled Kit

Includes the same local features and adds online score submission through the HighScoreSaves global leaderboard platform.

Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Yes. Traditional Coin-Up operation remains supported.

Does installation require soldering?

No soldering is required when the original 6809E processor is already installed in a compatible 40-pin socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a compatible socket must be installed first.

How do I access the Mikie settings menu?

Hold Player 1 Start while turning the cabinet on. Release the button when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue.

Does the Mikie kit support Backup and Restore?

Yes. Saved high scores can be backed up and restored later.

Does the Mikie kit support cocktail cabinets?

Yes. Documented compatible upright and cocktail cabinets are supported.

Is Wi-Fi required?
