Megazone Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original 6809E processor is already socketed. The original processor is removed from the Konami PCB, installed on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard, and the assembled kit is installed into the original CPU socket. If the 6809E is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket first.

What This Kit Adds
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Permanently saves supported scores, initials, settings, and configuration data locally and provides Free Play, attract sounds, menu settings, 16 score tables, backup and restore, ROM Saver, Flip Screen, and other documented local features without requiring an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and can also submit qualifying scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard after a player enters their initials.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Does the Megazone kit permanently save high scores?
Yes. The kit permanently saves the Top 5 supported scores with initials using battery-free serial EEPROM storage.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the original 6809E processor is already installed in a compatible 40-pin socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a socket first.
How is the Megazone kit installed?
