The HighScoreSaves Jail Break Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades a compatible original Konami Jail Break arcade PCB with Free Play, permanent Top 5 high score saving with player initials, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, separate score tables, ROM Saver support, backup and restore, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade hardware and gameplay.
Jail Break Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original 6809E is already socketed. The original processor is removed from the PCB, installed on the HighScoreSaves kit, and the assembled kit is installed in the original CPU socket. If the 6809E is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket first.

The original compatible 6809E processor is reused and transferred to the HighScoreSaves kit during installation.
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Permanently saves supported scores and player initials locally. No internet connection is required for gameplay, Free Play, settings-menu operation, ROM Saver operation, or local score saving.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local score-saving features and can also submit qualifying scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard after player initials are entered.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

How do I enter the Jail Break settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start for approximately 4 seconds while turning on the cabinet, then follow the on-screen prompt to continue into the settings menu.
How many high scores does the Jail Break kit save?
The kit permanently stores the Top 5 supported high scores with player initials using battery-free serial EEPROM storage.
Does installation require soldering?
No soldering is required when the original 6809E processor is already installed in a compatible 40-pin socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a socket first.
Does the kit change the original Jail Break gameplay?
No. The kit continues to use the original Konami arcade PCB, processor, controls, sound hardware, and game program rather than emulating or replacing the original game.
Does Jail Break save different score tables for different lives settings?
Yes. Separate supported score tables are maintained for 2, 3, 4, and 5 lives.
What does ROM Saver do?
ROM Saver supports removal of designated original program ROMs. Refer to the Jail Break installation guide for the correct ROM locations and installation procedure.
Will the Wi-Fi kit still save scores without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Local score saving, player initials, settings, and normal gameplay continue to work when Wi-Fi is disabled or unavailable.
