Joystick and Button Requirements
The menu can restrict the available game list based on the controls installed in your cabinet.
Galaxian Harness and Edge-Connector Changes
Some games require additional joystick directions or a second button. The Vector Labs guide repurposes several original Galaxian edge-connector positions for these controls.

Required PCB DIP Settings
DIP3 = ON DIP4 = ON DIP5 = OFF
Important: DIP5 must remain OFF for normal score-saving operation. Setting DIP5 ON clears NVRAM at each reset and prevents saved high scores from being retained.
Galaxian 19-in-1 Installation Overview
This installation uses multiple daughterboards and several original Galaxian PCB locations. Review the complete guide before removing any chips.
Remove the documented large ROM board from IC locations 7F and 7L.
If location 6L already has a compatible socket, the replacement color PROM board can be installed there. If it is soldered, the original chip must be removed and a compatible 16-pin socket installed.
Remove the original Z80 processor from socket 8B.
Install the supplied CR1220 battery in the CPU daughterboard using the polarity shown in the Vector Labs installation guide.
Install the 19-in-1 CPU board into the original Z80 socket at location 8B, then reinstall the Z80 processor on the daughterboard.
Install the replacement color PROM board and connect the shorter supplied ribbon cable.
Remove the documented original ROMs from locations 1H and 1K.
Install the Vector Labs graphics board into sockets 1H and 1K, then connect the longer ribbon cable.
Connect the supplied grabber lead to the CPU daughterboard and attach the mini-grabber to Pin 1 of IC 3J.
Some Galaxian PCBs Require Socket Installation at 6L
The basic kit is plug-in only when the required PCB locations are already socketed. If the original color PROM at location 6L is soldered directly to the PCB, it must be properly removed and a compatible 16-pin socket installed before fitting the Vector Labs color PROM board.
CR1220 Battery and Saved Scores
The Vector Labs CPU daughterboard uses a CR1220 battery. The installation guide notes typical battery life of approximately one year.
If saved-score retention changes unexpectedly, check both the CR1220 battery and the required DIP settings before assuming the multigame hardware has failed.
Check the Galaxian +5V Power Supply
The Vector Labs installation guide specifically recommends checking the cabinet's +5V rail because aging classic arcade power supplies can drift out of specification.
The documented acceptable TTL operating range is 4.75VDC minimum to 5.25VDC maximum.
If the PCB voltage is below 4.75VDC and the supply cannot be properly adjusted, correct the power-supply problem before troubleshooting the multigame kit.

I bought this kit to put on a Galaxian board that was missing its factory daughter board.
