The HighScoreSaves Eagle Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades compatible original Centuri Eagle and Nichibutsu Moon Cresta / EAGLE-class arcade hardware with Free Play, permanent Top 5 score saving, adjustable attract sounds, menu-driven settings, separate score tables, Backup and Restore, Fast Boot, ROM Saver, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade PCB, controls, sound, graphics hardware, and gameplay.
Eagle Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the Z80B processor at location 8B is already socketed. Remove the existing Z80, install it on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard, and install the assembled kit into the original CPU socket. If the processor is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores, settings, and configuration data locally. No internet connection is required for Free Play, score saving, settings, ROM selection, Fast Boot, ROM Saver, or normal gameplay.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and can also submit qualifying completed scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving, Free Play, settings, ROM selection, Fast Boot, ROM Saver operation, or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Eagle Kit FAQ
Does this kit also work with Moon Cresta hardware?
Yes. The kit supports documented compatible original Centuri Eagle and Nichibutsu Moon Cresta / EAGLE-class hardware. The kit is preset to Eagle. When installed with compatible Moon Cresta hardware, select the Moon Cresta ROM version in the main menu so it matches the installed graphics ROMs.
Does this kit work on Galaxian or Gremlin hardware?
No. This kit is for documented compatible Centuri Eagle and Nichibutsu Moon Cresta / EAGLE-class hardware. It does not work on Galaxian or Gremlin hardware.
How do I enter the Eagle settings menu?
With the game powered off, press and hold Player 1 Start while turning the game on. Release Player 1 Start when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue.
How do I restore supported settings to factory defaults?
Power the cabinet off, hold Player 1 Start and Player 2 Start, then turn the cabinet on while continuing to hold both buttons. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Will the Wi-Fi kit still save scores if Wi-Fi is disabled?
Yes. Local score saving, Free Play, settings, ROM selection, Fast Boot, ROM Saver, and normal gameplay continue to work when Wi-Fi is disabled or unavailable.
