The HighScoreSaves Discs of Tron Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades a documented compatible original Bally Midway Discs of Tron arcade PCB with Free Play, permanent Top 10 high score saving, adjustable attract sounds, separate lives-based score tables, menu-driven settings, Backup and Restore, bonus-life and initials options, ROM Saver, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original arcade hardware and gameplay.
Discs of Tron Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original Z80 location is already socketed. Remove the original Z80 from the Super CPU PCB, install it on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard, and install the daughterboard into the original Z80 socket. If the Z80 is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores, settings, and configuration data locally on the installed Discs of Tron kit. No internet connection is required.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and can also submit qualifying completed scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving, Free Play, attract sounds, settings, ROM Saver operation, or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

How do I enter the Discs of Tron kit settings menu?
With the cabinet powered off, hold Player 1 Start while turning the cabinet on. Release Player 1 Start when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue. The settings menu video above shows the available options and controls.
How are Discs of Tron high scores organized?
The kit permanently stores the Top 10 supported scores and maintains separate supported high score tables for two-, three-, four-, and five-life settings. Initial entry can be configured for either two or three initials.
How do I restore the kit settings to factory defaults?
Power the cabinet off, hold Player 1 Start and Player 2 Start, then turn the cabinet on while continuing to hold both buttons. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the supported DIP and settings data.
Will the Wi-Fi kit still save scores if Wi-Fi is disabled?
Yes. Local score saving, Free Play, attract sounds, settings, ROM Saver operation, and normal gameplay continue to work when Wi-Fi is disabled or unavailable.
