The HighScoreSaves Crystal Castles Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades a documented compatible original Atari Crystal Castles arcade PCB with Free Play, permanent Top 32 high score saving, separate lives-based score tables, on-screen settings, Backup and Restore, Reset, Fast Boot, ROM Saver, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original Atari hardware, trackball controls, and gameplay.
Crystal Castles Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Plug-in installation when the original 6502 location is already socketed. Remove the original 6502 from the Atari PCB, install it on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard, and install the daughterboard into the original CPU socket. If the 6502 is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

6502 processor required: transfer your current compatible 6502 to the kit or select a compatible processor option when ordering.
A compatible 40-pin CPU socket is available as an optional add-on if the original processor location requires one.
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores, settings, and configuration data locally on the installed Crystal Castles kit. No internet connection is required.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and can also submit qualifying completed scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving, Free Play, Coin-Up operation, settings, Backup and Restore, Reset, Fast Boot, ROM Saver operation, or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

How do I enter the Crystal Castles kit settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start for approximately 4 seconds while turning on the cabinet. Release the button when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue.
How are Crystal Castles high scores organized?
The kit permanently stores the Top 32 supported scores and maintains separate supported high score tables for two-, three-, four-, and five-life settings.
Does the original 6502 processor move to the kit?
Yes. When using your existing compatible processor, remove the original 6502 from the Atari PCB and install it on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard before installing the daughterboard into the original CPU socket.
What is ROM Saver?
ROM Saver allows the supported game program to run from the kit so the designated original program ROMs can be removed when following the installation guide.
Will the Wi-Fi kit still save scores if Wi-Fi is disabled?
Yes. Local score saving, Free Play, Coin-Up operation, settings, Backup and Restore, Reset, Fast Boot, and normal gameplay continue to work when Wi-Fi is disabled or unavailable.

Easy peasy to install. Even has a GOD mode.
Another great kit. Fits right into the 6502 socket with no fuss. Might be a bit tough to reach around the cabinet for the on/off switch with the player 1 button held down but I was able to juuust make it. :)
