The HighScoreSaves Circus Charlie Free Play and High Score Save Kit upgrades a documented compatible original Konami Circus Charlie arcade PCB with Free Play, permanent Top 7 high score saving, eight separate score tables, attract sounds, menu-driven settings, Stealth Mode, and optional Wi-Fi leaderboard support while retaining the original Konami hardware and gameplay.
Circus Charlie Compatibility & Requirements
Installation: Remove the original Konami1 processor and store it safely, install the supplied Konami1 adapter in the documented socket, install a compatible 6809E on the HighScoreSaves daughterboard, and install the daughterboard onto the adapter. If the Konami1 is soldered directly to the PCB, a qualified arcade technician must install a compatible 40-pin socket before the kit can be used.

6809E processor required: supply a compatible 6809E processor or select the optional processor when ordering. The original Konami1 processor is removed and stored safely and is not used while the kit is installed.
Standard vs. Wi-Fi Kit
Standard Kit
Saves supported scores, settings, and configuration data locally on the installed Circus Charlie kit. No internet connection is required.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local features and can also submit qualifying completed scores to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard.
Wi-Fi can be disabled without affecting local score saving, Free Play, Coin-Up operation, settings, Backup and Restore, Stealth Mode, ROM Saver operation, or normal gameplay. Wi-Fi-enabled kits use compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

How do I enter the Circus Charlie kit settings menu?
Hold Player 1 Start for approximately 4 seconds while turning on the cabinet. The settings menu video above shows the available options and controls.
How are Circus Charlie high scores organized?
The kit permanently saves the Top 7 supported scores and maintains eight separate score tables based on supported difficulty and lives combinations.
What happens to the original Konami1 processor?
The original Konami1 is removed from the PCB and stored safely. The supplied Konami1 adapter installs in its place, and the HighScoreSaves 6809 daughterboard uses a compatible 6809E processor.
Will the Wi-Fi kit still save scores if Wi-Fi is disabled?
Yes. Local score saving, Free Play, Coin-Up operation, settings, Backup and Restore, Stealth Mode, and normal gameplay continue to work when Wi-Fi is disabled or unavailable.
