The kit installs through the original Z80 CPU socket and uses the processor from your Mario Bros. board. It also remembers the selected Free Play setting after cabinet power is turned off.

Installation Overview
- Turn off and unplug the arcade cabinet before accessing the Mario Bros. CPU board.
- Carefully remove the original Z80 processor from its socket on the Nintendo Mario Bros. PCB.
- Install the original Z80 into the socket on the Braze daughterboard, observing the correct Pin 1 orientation.
- Install the assembled daughterboard into the vacated Z80 CPU socket on the original board.
- Recheck the processor and daughterboard orientation before restoring cabinet power.
- Power on the cabinet and verify operation using the Braze installation guide.
Free Play and Score Reset
Free Play is enabled or disabled through the standard Mario Bros. test mode. Once selected, the Braze kit remembers the setting after the cabinet is powered off.
To clear the saved high score table, enter test mode and reset the bookkeeping distributions. This restores the default saved-score table.
