Main Features Easy install: No soldering, board modifications, or special wiring—just plug the kit in and go. Save your scores forever: Uses serial EEPROM (not failure-prone NVRAM or batteries). High Score Save: Stores the Top 10 scores. Attract sounds: Set to 25%, 50%, or 100% of the attract screen rotation. Freeplay: No more coins or opening the coin door to start a game. Coin up: Keep quarters or tokens enabled if you want. Attract mode: Minimizes static screens to help reduce screen burn. Copyright message: Choose original manufacturer or High Score Saves. Change DIP settings: On-screen menu—no manual DIP switches. ROM Saver: Original program ROMs can be removed; program resides on the save kit. You can use Freeplay for convenience or keep coin-up enabled. Can I change DIP settings without opening the cabinet? Yes. DIP switch settings are available in the on-screen menu. What is the Reset Button feature? Enable the Reset Button in the menu to restart a game without powering off. Does it have separate score tables? Yes. The kit maintains separate high-score tables for different lives chosen (2/3/4/5). Does it support fast boot? Yes. It has a fast boot with minimal initialization time. Braze Battlezone High Score Save Kit — Features & Install Overview A high score save kit for Battlezone that permanently remembers the top 10 scores and initials—even after power-off—without any batteries. It also doubles as a “ROM saver”, reducing issues from aging ROM sockets. Note: this version does not include attract sounds; the Highscoresaves.com version does. No special wiring or soldering is required. Installation Summary Power down the cabinet and access the CPU board. Carefully remove the 6502 CPU from the Battlezone board. Insert the 6502 into the included daughter card. Plug the daughter card into the vacated 6502 CPU socket on the board. Power on and follow the install guide to verify operation. To clear saved scores: enter Self Test, then press and hold the Start and Fire buttons together until the screen shows “ERASED.” Key Features Installs in minutes: no board modifications or special wiring. The kit uses the 6502 CPU—remove the existing 6502, place it in the daughter card, then plug the card into the 6502 socket. What makes the connection reliable?
