ARpiCADE Raspberry Pi JAMMA Adapter Features and Compatibility

The ARpiCADE Raspberry Pi JAMMA Adapter connects a compatible Raspberry Pi to a standard JAMMA arcade cabinet, allowing the cabinet’s existing controls, audio system, power wiring, and display to be used with an arcade-focused multigame system.

HighScoreSaves is the official United States distributor for ARpiCADE. This full-size adapter is intended for traditional JAMMA cabinets and supports original arcade-monitor configurations as well as selected modern-display setups.

JAMMA Cabinet Installation

The adapter connects directly to a compatible JAMMA wiring harness and uses the cabinet’s properly regulated power supply. A separate power supply is not normally required for a correctly wired JAMMA cabinet.

Standard Player 1 and Player 2 joystick directions, start buttons, coin inputs, and up to three action buttons per player are carried through the JAMMA harness. Cabinet wiring and power should be inspected before installation.

Arcade Monitor and Modern Display Options

ARpiCADE supports RGBS video for compatible original arcade monitors. Higher-resolution configurations can use a supported VGA arrangement or the Raspberry Pi’s display output, depending on the selected monitor option and software configuration.

Select the monitor configuration that matches your cabinet. Do not connect an arcade monitor to an incompatible video signal or resolution.

Controls and Optional Six-Button Harness

Standard JAMMA wiring supports up to three action buttons for Player 1 and Player 2. Fighting games and other six-button titles require the optional control harness for buttons 4, 5, and 6.

Some cabinets may also require additional control-panel openings, buttons, and wiring. The optional harness does not physically add buttons to the cabinet.

Audio Output

The adapter supports amplified mono audio through compatible JAMMA cabinet wiring and line-level stereo output for installations using an external stereo amplifier or powered audio system.

• Compatible SD card

Does ARpiCADE use original arcade game PCBs?

No. ARpiCADE uses Raspberry Pi hardware and compatible software while connecting to the cabinet’s JAMMA wiring, controls, audio, power, and display.

Is a Raspberry Pi included?

Only when a Raspberry Pi is selected as a product option. The adapter by itself does not automatically include a Raspberry Pi.

Can it work with an original CRT arcade monitor?

Yes, when the correct arcade RGBS monitor configuration is selected and the cabinet and monitor are compatible.

Can I use an LCD or LED display?

Yes, with the correct display connection and software configuration. Select the monitor option that matches your intended setup.

Does it support six-button fighting games?

Yes. JAMMA supplies the first three action buttons for each player. Buttons 4, 5, and 6 require the compatible optional harness and correctly installed cabinet controls.
